The Urban Design Collective Presents
Just in time for the holidays The Urban Design Collective, a group of Bay Area female design entrepreneurs, is kicking off the gift-giving season with its bi-annual shopping event. Wine & Design, the group’s signature event will be held on December 3 from 5-10 p.m. at The Women’s Building in the Mission (3543 18th St. #8, San Francisco). Admission is $8 and attendees will have a chance to win special designer prizes, while enjoying wine and appetizers. In addition, buyers from specialty boutiques and other local retailers will have a chance to purchase products wholesale from select designers.
The Urban Design Collective was founded in August 2003 and boasts membership of 50 local designers. The group is comprised of female entrepreneurs in the design industry, across such categories such as clothing and apparel, jewelry, handbags, home décor, furniture, graphic/web design, and pet accessories.
“The San Francisco Bay Area is ripe with talented, women-owned design businesses. The Urban Design Collective was established to provide a collaborative environment for these emerging designers,” said Tonie Cox, founder & president of The Urban Design Collective. “Our signature Wine & Design event was created to showcase these up-and-coming entrepreneurs and allow shoppers and retailers to buy directly from local talent.”
Wine & Design promotes Bay Area design talent, supports the local economy and provides consumers with a unique opportunity to shop for limited and one-of-a-kind products direct from the artist. Designers showcasing their latest lines include: BMod Jewelry, Bubba & Julia, China Doll, Design Democracy, Fluidance, Frames by Kui, Freya Design, Green Halo Designs, HMA Designs, Hovey Lee Designs, JBalducci, JAK Designs, Janine-Marie, Janine Ibbotson Design, Jester Swink, Jixiki, Linoleum Design, Livingstone Dyeworks, Liza Sonia Designs, Lotus Essential, My Own Bag, Mzz Trzz Accessories, Natalie Mingura Designs, New Leaf Clothing, Offhand Designs, Peartree Press, Peculiar Pair Press, PelleMelle, Porcelynne, Rebecca Overmann, Spikey Bras, Tesora, Tina Ruth, Toast, Vaska by Annica, VCP, and more to come
A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to The Women’s Building and their community outreach services as well as the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
