Libeskind's Book Signing Rescheduled from December
Daniel Libeskind will discuss his book Breaking Ground: Adventures in Life and Architecture in Phillips Hall at the Mizel Center for Arts and Culture, on the campus of the Jewish Community Center, 350 South Dahlia Street, on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.
Born in Poland in 1946 to Holocaust survivors, Libeskind emigrated to New York City in 1959, and he continues to lead a life informed by his Jewish roots. The completion of the Berlin Jewish Museum in 2001 catapulted Libeskind into architectural superstardom. He was subsequently chosen to oversee the expansion of the Denver Art Museum and the reconstruction of New York's World Trade Center. Overturning the stereotype of the distant, Olympian architect, Libeskind is a poet of space, memory and hope, who explores the ways in which architecture can memorialize and reshape human experience.
This is a rescheduling of Mr. Libeskind's planned appearance at the Leah Cohen Festival of Books and Authors in December. Tickets are $10 at the door or by phone, 303-316-6360. Previously issued tickets will be honored.
