In Honour of Lin Onus
The exhibition is a tribute to the life and work of one of Australia's greatest artists.
From the humorous Ongoing Adventures of X and Ray to the deeply disturbing They Took the Children Away, this display is a minute sample of artworks by an extraordinary man.
Indigenous artist Lin Onus (1948 - 1996) spent much of his life bridging the gap between urban and traditional, indigenous and white Australia. With Yorta Yorta and Scottish heritage, he had a deep social conscience. His work has motivated and encouraged a whole new generation of young Indigenous artists from south-eastern Australia, which is why these works sit alongside examples of those who he inspired.
The exhibition can be viewed until 1 June 2007.
