20th Biennial of Industrial Design: BIO 20
The deadline for entries from outside of Slovenia has been extended to 26 June 2006.
20th Biennial of Industrial Design (BIO 20) has been a comparative international exhibition of well-designed products, visual communications and design concepts held in Ljubljana, Slovenia since 1963. The exhibition is organized by the BIO Secretariat, which operates under the aegis of the Architectural Museum of Ljubljana. The objective of the exhibition is to present current movements in contemporary design trough all over the world. The organizer wishes to present innovative design products which seek answers to the problems of modern life, which are oriented towards sustainable development and social responsibility, and which satisfy the special needs of users. BIO 20 is endorsed by BEDA (The Bureau of European Design Associations), ICSID (International Council of Societies of Industrial Design) and ICOGRADA (International Council of Graphic Design Associations).
Catalogue: The BIO 20 catalogue will be published to accompany the exhibition. The catalogue will contain information about exhibits, designers and manufacturers. The catalogue will be bilingual (Slovenian and English).
International Jury: Massimo Pitis (BEDA), Italy / Judith Varhely (ICSID), Hungary / Jacques Lange (ICOGRADA), South Africa / Francisco Carrera (Spain) / Julia Chiu (Japan)
Prizes: The international jury will review the exhibition material and bestow gold medals, honourable mentions, good project awards, the ICSID Excellence Award, the ICOGRADA Excellence Award and the BEDA European Design Award.
The deadline for entries: 12 June 2006.
Time and place of the exhibition: 5 October - 5 November 2006, Ljubljana, Slovenia
