Tendence Lifestyle 2006
25 - 29 August 2006 - Frankfurt
Tendence Lifestyle Decorate Life 25 - 29 August 2006 Frankfurt
Highlights of Tendence Lifestyle 2006 Stroll, search and discover - shopping is fun! Especially when the shops offer that extra special something in the form of super products, ideas and concepts. And to gain inspiration for this is why trend-oriented dealers will be coming to Tendence Lifestyle in Frankfurt from 25 to 29 August. The international lifestyle trade fair is the first and biggest event after the summer break and the leading meeting place for the latest autumn and winter trends. It has the world's biggest range of products that make life more pleasant: from interior design, via the kitchen, cooking and enjoyment, to the boundless world of giving.

Rounding off Tendence Lifestyle and making it a holistic trend and design experience will be a broad spectrum of highlights and events, including the highly popular Talents Area, as well as new and exclusive special shows, such as Personal Shopper. The numerous design exhibitions, special shows and themed restaurants are intended to give trade visitors orientation in the world of consumption and fresh ideas for the coming season. However, the latest designs and trends are not only to be found at the Exhibition Centre. For the second time, two off events - 'Fresch' and 'Designersblock' - will invite visitors and design experts to downtown Frankfurt.
Here is an initial overview of the highlights for 2006:
Personal Shopper Foyer of Halls 5.1/6.1 No, the personal shopper is not particularly interested in the supreme trend, 'the latest thing' of the season. As a stylist and designer, the work of the personal shopper means he or she is well ahead of fashion. They are trend setters, not trend followers. The true skill of the professional buyer is in compiling a perfect blend of products that underscore the client's style and personality. And this is exactly the idea behind Personal Shopper, the new special show at Tendence Lifestyle.
For the Personal Shopper show, two modern avant-garde design studios will put together their own highly personal portfolio of products from Tendence Lifestyle whereby they have complete freedom in terms of concept, selection and presentation. As personal shoppers for the international trade, they offer trade buyers an individual selection in advance of their visit to the fair and thus make not only valuable suggestions for expanding the product assortment and decorating but also make an impressive demonstration of how products can be used to perfectly round off a lifestyle. For the debut of Personal Shopper, Messe Frankfurt has been able to sign up the Paris-based design studio of Tsé & Tsé associées and the Walking Chair Design Studio, Vienna. Responsible for the concepts are, on the French side, Daniel Baumann together with company founders Catherine Lévy and Sigolène Prébois and, on the Austrian side, Karl Emilio Pircher and Fidel Peugeot, designers and founders of Walking Chair.
Collector's Mania Foyer Hall 4.1 Every piece is something special for a collector and each has its own individual origins, history and soul. Each is carefully looked after and has a special place in the home. Design studio Bora.Herke will interpret the passionate mood generated by collectors in the Collector's Mania trend show. In keeping with the approaching season, the team will create winter scenes where the modern meets the romantic and the topical meets the nostalgic. Like a collector, they integrate the home accessories into a new, individual arrangement and set them in an unusual context. Three superordinate themes illustrate the current trends: 'Metallic' combines cool metal with warm wood; 'Folklore' revives the mystery of East Europe in natural shades and rich colours; 'White' creates a white-white field of tension between romantic ornaments and cool modern designs. All products come from the exhibitors of the Emotion lifestyle world (Halls 4.0, 4.1 und 4.2) and will be marked with the appropriate stand numbers. Thus, trade visitors will not only be able to obtain lots of inspiration on expanding their assortments and decorating their shops but also know straight away where to look for their favourite pieces at Tendence Lifestyle.
Talents Hall 6.1, Hall 8.0 Two times twenty unadulterated 'Talents': the young designers in the Talents Areas stand for innovation, courage and extraordinary ideas. They operate outside of the mainstream and, in particular, trends. With unfettered minds, surprising product ideas and intelligent solutions, they make their claim to be the designers of the future. For Tendence Lifestyle 2006, Messe Frankfurt will once again organise two exciting Talents Areas: with the focus on interior design in Loft Hall (6.1) and on jewellery and personal accessories in the Passione Hall (8.0). In both cases, visitors can look forward to insights into tomorrow's trends and designs. These special areas for young designers are already well established in Frankfurt. Since 2001, this promotional area has given students, newcomers and start-ups the chance to make presentations to an international audience of trade visitors on a separate and specially designed area. Here, they can show their ideas, concepts and prototypes and search for business partners for production or marketing. With success because the Talents are now not only an established and popular part of Tendence Lifestyle - their names also keep appearing on the products being shown by exhibitors at the fair.
Ho/me/dia and About Design Hall 6.1 MP3 players as pieces of jewellery, LCD monitors as murals, hi-fi loudspeakers as home accessories: the latest high-tech develop¬ments permeate virtually all aspects of modern life and are increasingly being sold as elegant lifestyle products. Modern consumers love these chic accessories and have the same aesthetic expectations on entertainment electronics as on, for example, fashion and furniture. New products and new trends arise and the spectrum grows along with the demand. Reason enough to devote a separate exhibition to this exciting topic. To this end, Tendence Lifestyle has gained the services of the German Design Council (Rat für Formgebung), which will create an exclusive special exhibition showing the variety of products available on the market. Conceived as a kind of concept store, the presentation will emphasise trend-setting new developments and generate valuable ideas that visitors can use in connection with this future-oriented segment. Thus, Ho/me/dia will not only be a trend show for the latest technology but also a tool the trade can use to open up new product fields and buyer groups.
In this connection, the German Design Council will provide a setting for communication, information and inspiration - with topical literature in a modern ambience - in the adjoining reading area.
Form 2006 Galleria 1 South Design is not the only criterion at the Form 2006 special show. The exhibits to be seen at the exhibition are distinguished by innovative design solutions, a product-oriented choice of materials and workmanship, functionality and a persuasive overall concept. The competition is organised by the German Arts & Crafts Association (Berufsverband Kunsthandwerk e.V.) and aims to present innovations from the handicrafts trade and industry. All products come from exhibitors of Tendence Lifestyle, which means that trade visitors can obtain an important overview of the latest products from old and new exhibitors.
Philipp Becker - Gemstone Cutters Hall 8.0 From a find to a piece of jewellery: in the Passione Hall, visitors can watch the gemstone-cutting process live with a demonstration being held in a special area every day of the fair. The coordinator will be Friedrich Wilshaus who, together with gemstone experts, will demonstrate the art of creating brilliant masterworks from uncut stones.
