International Herald Tribune's 2006 Luxury Conference in Istanbul

 The International Herald Tribune (IHT) announced that Francois-Henri Pinault, chairman and CEO of PPR (Pinault Printemps Redoute), will deliver the opening keynote address at the sixth edition of its annual fashion and luxury conference, to take place at The Ritz-Carlton Istanbul on December 7-8, 2006.
The IHT's fashion editor, Suzy Menkes, who will chair the conference, said, "Through its ownership of Gucci, Bottega Veneta and a number of other elite fashion brands, PPR is one of the key players in the luxury business and I am delighted to welcome Mr. Pinault as our opening keynote speaker this year."
Bernard Fornas, president and CEO of Cartier International, will also give a keynote address.

The Paris-based international daily also announced today that it will take the luxury conference to Moscow next year, where the event will be held at the new Ritz-Carlton on November 28-29, 2007.
About this announcement, Menkes said, "Moscow is currently THE luxury destination - and not just because of the flamboyant way the Muscovites have embraced the luxury labels. In their history and heritage, Russians have a profound cultural understanding of beauty and craftsmanship that is the essence of true luxury."
In January this year, the IHT became the first international newspaper to start printing in Russia after forming a printing and publishing alliance with The Moscow Times. The paper is now available early each morning throughout Moscow via subscription or on newsstands.
