OFFensiva 2005: III International Film Festival
III International Film Festival OFFensiva 2005 will begin at the 8th of December and will have place till 12th of December2005 in the 'Warsaw Cinema' in Wrocław (Big and Small Hall) and in the 'Discussion Film Club' at the Wrocław Polytechnic . Festival is for open people who prefer artistic impressions of different types. Especially for these who perceive different kinds of art. Organizers prepared about 6000 places for fans of the ambitious cinema. Festival Program has in its offer 3 film cycles(Competition-Contest, Festivals, Retrospective)
The most important part of the OFFensiva is Contest during which films will compete in 4 categories : narrative, document, video clip, video art. New category has been introduced in this edition of the OFFensiva-the video clip. Not only festival has had lots of fans of this kind of films but also factories connected with the industry were interested in this kind of entertainment. The festival's mission is to support aspiring, independent and non-commercial filmmaker. The Organizers seek to promote primarily young filmmakers and to popularize the most original production techniques and conceptions in the short-feature film. We especially invite to the festival screenings young audience
Competition is open so every young film-maker from all over the world can compete. Organizers want to promote young, ambitious, creative film-makers and to encourage the most original ideas.
The main awards of the OFFensiva are: gold, silver and bronze OFF-s and will be introduced by professional jury. In 2005 the invitations to join a jury society were held to : Jerzego Stuhra, Filipa Bajona, Andrzeja Ramlaua, Magdaleny Piekorz, Yacha Paszkiewicza, Roberta Leszczyńskiego, Piotra Metza. The competing films will have chance to get a Journalists and an Audience Award.
In 2004 OFFensiva awards received Golden OFF Plot- 'Z ulicy' directed by Stano Petroy(Slovakia), Golden OFF Document-'Wrocław Nadobrze' directed by Grzegorz Korczak, Golden OFF Video-art , 'Paryż', 'Aniele mój aniele', 'Zjawy I ludzie' directed by Szymon Felkel.
'OFFensiva 'offers also 2 other film cycles. First of them are 'Festivals' which includes films that received prizes at other international festivals. This year 'Retrospective' also will be introduced as one of the new part of the 'OFFensiva 'where famous film-makers will introduced their films.
This year 'OFFensiva' has also lots of music offers e.g concerts of the Fruhstuck band and R-20 Orchestra will be lead by Robert Kardybachy! Overall impression is that there will be many attractions for the most choosy audience.
We are delighted that the festival has drawn a strong interest on the part of media and film distributors. We hope that our Festival has already established itself as one of the leading and most prestigious events of independent filming and has been positioned firmly on the annual map of the artistic events of Poland.
