Pitti Immagine Bimbo N. 60
Fall-Winter 2005/2006
Pitti Immagine Bimbo N. 60 21 - 23 January 2005 Florence, Fortezza da Basso
The world preview of clothing and accessories collections for children and teens (0 to 18 years), maternity wear, and childcare products for the fall-winter 2005/2006 season.
The Fair Pitti Immagine Bimbo is the world's reference in fashions for the youngest set and the focus of trends and novelties for the whole industry.
At the last winter edition (16 - 18 January 2004), the exhibitors showed 413 brands produced by 306 companies, a third of which came from abroad. In the three trade fair days the visitors totalled about 10,000 - and of these more than 35% came from about 70 different countries - for another of those numerical increases that have been a constant factor in the event figures since 1999. Most of the buyers come from Spain, Germany, Greece, United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, the United States, and Japan. The growth results were best above all for buyers from new markets, in particular China and Russia.
The sections Pitti Immagine Bimbo is a trade fair open to experimentation, characterized by a broad product offer and continuing research into quality and look. It is divided into 4 sections: Pitti Bimbo. The most classical and elegant styles mixed with a contemporary spirit. Sport Generation. Jeans-wear and collections inspired by the world of sports. New View. The most creative fashion with the highest research content: individualism and a taste for originality. Kids' Design. Objects and furnishing accessories for an attentive niche market with demanding tastes.
Pitti Immagine Bimbo's success and international status explain the growing demand for admission to the event: over 100 brands have requested to attend this edition of the fair, many of them from outside Italy.
This growth trend is noticeable in New View - to date, the fair section with the highest percentage of foreign exhibitors (over 70%) - a showcase for avant-garde creative messages, with a strong presence of companies from the northern European "triangle" - the United Kingdom/Belgium/the Netherlands: a geographical area where creativity, especially with regard to kids' fashion, is following a constantly upward trend.
There are also signs of powerful dynamism coming from Sport Generation: this section, dedicated to informal wear, is broadening its horizons and paying an increasing amount of attention to jeans-wear, which is establishing its identity in a clear and precise way from one edition to another.
The collections on display at Pitti Immagine Bimbo also include a growing number of under-18 versions of adult brands: collections which are broadening their creative dimension with projects aimed at the world of children's fashion.
