DMI's 11th European Design Management Conference to Be Held in Copenhagen
Exploring the challenging topic of "Improving and Measuring Design's Role in Business Performance", The Design Management Institute (DMI), will hold its 11th European Design Management Conference on 14-16 March in Copenhagen, Denmark. DMI is planning to expand upon content developed from a conference held last fall in Vermont, but with an international perspective.
Business executives, design directors and design managers are asked more and more often to provide improvement and measurement of design and design management effectiveness, in order to achieve desired business results. Until now, there have been few consolidated efforts to capture and share knowledge about this very important issue. Attendees will benefit by learning exactly how one measures and improves the role of design and design management in achieving business success.
"Every business should be working towards improving their design effectiveness. But, this is easier said than done. Bringing together a team of international experts, we will explore new areas to help the design community at large answer some of their most difficult questions and challenges," states DMI President Thomas Lockwood.
DMI chose to hold the conference in Copenhagen because Danish design continues to be at the forefront of design inspiration. The Danish Design Centre will sponsor the event. "Danish Design Centre's vision is to ensure that Denmark becomes one of the world's leading design nations with Danish companies among the world's best at converting design theory into value-adding and market-oriented design solutions. Therefore it is very important for the Danish Design Centre that the next DMI European Design Management Conference be held in Copenhagen, and the Danish Design Centre is pleased to be a sponsor of the event," remarked DDC Managing Director, Christian Scherfig.
Leading design management visionaries will come together in Copenhagen to discuss how concepts and real world examples of improving and measuring design performance, and what effect this may have on business and our futures.
Preceding the conference on 12-13 March, Keynote Speaker Darrel Rhea, CEO, Cheskin will present his popular seminar, "Design Research for Product and Service Innovation" at the DDC.
With 1,400 members in 44 countries, DMI is the international authority, resource and advocate on design management, and a thought leader in the areas of design management, design strategy and design leadership.
