President's Design Award 2006 Exhibition
Established in 2005, the President's Design Award established in 2005 is Singapore's most prestigious award for its designers and designs. It recognises the significant achievements and contributions of the nation's design talents. The spirit of the Award encourages design excellence that improves quality of life, enhances human potential and national competitiveness.
The first awards given in 2006 recognised 2 Designers of the Year and 7 Designs of the Year. The Award recognises design creativity, and the designs that shape our experience of the world. Hence, the Award is presented in two categories, Singapore Designers of the Year and Singapore Designs of the Year.
Works by the recipients of the President's Design Award 2006 will be showcased at the public exhibition in Singapore, featuring images and design pieces and videos of the recipients as well as the commemorative Award publication. The exhibition is designed by award-winning design firm Black Design Pte Ltd.
