Images 31 Tour 07
The Best of British Contemporary Illustration
The Association of Illustrators (AOI) once again presents Images - the best of British contemporary illustration, the most prestigious and comprehensive illustration award show in the UK today.
On display are around 80 original artworks highlighting the work of illustrators, who have made significant contributions to the industry during the last year. Rod Hunt's detailed digital illustration for the jacket of 'Change the World 9 to 5' is displayed along Simon Spilsbury's drawing of '3000 sexual positions' for a poster campaign promoting the powers of Stuffit Expander. Sara Fanelli combines typography, drawing and collage on her covers for the Pizza Express menu.
The exhibited works have been selected by a panel of internationally acclaimed judges including Steven Heller, former Art Director New York Times Book Review and Co-chair of the MFA Designers as Author program at the School of Visual Arts New York, Anita O'Brian, Curator of the Cartoon Museum London, and illustrators Matthew Richardson and Izhar Cohen. Award winning cartoonist Steve Bell, best known for his political caricatures in the Guardian newspaper, has selected the AOI Images 31 Critic's Award from more than 400 illustrations published in the Images 31 annual.
