Communicate in Pantone Color: The New Pantone Cell Phones

Mobile phones are the latest fashion accessory. Pantone, the world's authority on color, and SoftBank (commonly known as Vodafone in the U.S.) have teamed up to provide technicolor mobile phones.
Available in 20 PANTONE Colors ranging from bright pink, green and cyan to more subdued navy blue and white, the new phones were recently showcased on the runways of Japan in the fashion-forward Harajuku district to celebrate the opening of Softbank's newest and largest store there. Well-known Japanese models, dressed in clothing color-coordinated with the phones, displayed the phones in a true catwalk style.
The new PANTONE cell phones are part of an expanding line of colorful consumer products, which include PANTONE PAINT, PANTONE VIEW inspiration for interiors, a decorating color guide for design-savvy consumers, PANTONE Palette Plates, a line of dishware from Fishs Eddy, and PANTONE UNIVERSE stationery.
Latest craze across the continental divide...
More than just a pretty face, the 812H Sharp includes a music player, a 2 MP camera, Bluetooth connectivity, 2.4" QVGA LCD screen and support for further memory expansion using microSD memory cards. Recently introduced in late January, Mr. Son, president of SoftBank, marked this collaboration with Pantone as the top priority item of their product lineup of spring season models. As a further delivery on the promise, SoftBank rolled out a series of TV commercials for the phones, now seen all over Japan with U.S. celebrity Cameron Diaz starring in the latest one. In an innovative advertising and word-of-mouth campaign that included print ads in major fashion and business magazines and newspapers, the company "train-jacked" subways with huge colorful signage of the phones spanning three subway doors and used stickers and posters throughout the trains and subway stations to attract attention.
