Rhino 4.0 Shipping for Two Months
More Than 800 New Features and Enhancements
McNeel today announced that Rhinoceros 4.0 started shipping more than two months ago. In 11 languages, Rhino 4.0 is available worldwide at more than 700 dealers in more than 70 countries for US$/€995 with special pricing for students, teachers, and schools. Upgrades from Rhino 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, or 3.0 are US$/€295 until June 1, 2007.
"I need to apologize for not telling everyone sooner that we were shipping Rhino 4.0," explains Bob McNeel, McNeel's CEO. "Our plan was to inform the beta users first, followed by the registered Rhino users, and then the subscribers to our newsletter and the public, all within a few days, but by the time we let the beta and registered users know we were shipping, we were overwhelmed."
Bob went on to say, "The support from our users and third-party developers has been truly unbelievable. I don't know how to thank them enough for all the support they gave us during the Rhino 4.0 development."
Most Significant New Version Rhino 4.0 is the most significant new version in the history of Rhino. Over 800 new features and enhancements were designed, developed, and tested with input from more than 10,000 users. More development resources went into Rhino 4.0 than all of the prior Rhino releases combined. The major development areas include:
