Guy Matheson Becomes SHH's Fifth Associate

Architect Guy Matheson has become SHH's fifth Associate, joining fellow architects Stuart McLauchlan, Tim Angus and Steven Southall - and fellow New Zealander, designer Dan de Groot - to form a strengthened second management tier to the fast-growing architecture and design practice.
"As we head towards our year end this month with a projected 33% increase in our annual turnover, taking the company almost to the £3m mark, it has become ever more necessary to have a strong second layer of management at SHH, empowered to deal fully with project management and client relations, as the three original founders concentrate on managing the business and its growth" commented David Spence, Chairman of SHH.
"SHH has proven to be a great place to develop my design and construction skills", Guy added, "and I am really looking forward to the challenges placed by my new role within the company."
Guy Matheson joined SHH in 2004 as a Project Architect, working on high-end, one-off housing schemes, as well as on commercial-sector projects, such as SHH's dynamic, new-build Nu Asia restaurant scheme in Bahrain. Originally from New Zealand, Guy graduated in 1996 with a BBSc in Building Science before going on to take a BArch (Hons) in Architecture from the Victoria University of Wellington. He then worked at Wellington practices such as Studio of Pacific Architecture, before coming to the UK in 2003. Guy initially worked for Nicholas Burwell Architects in London, where he specialised in large-scale residential schemes and listed and historically-sensitive buildings, honing skills that he has further developed in his time at SHH.
