3Dconnexion's 3D Mice Now Supported by Graphisoft ArchiCAD 11
3Dconnexion, a Logitech company, today announced that its line of 3D mice is now supported by the new Graphisoft ArchiCAD 11, the company's latest 3D architectural design software. The Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) community can now use one of 3Dconnexion's popular 3D mice - the SpaceNavigator, SpaceTraveler, SpacePilot, or SpaceExplorer - with ArchiCAD 11 for better coordination and control of 3D objects when creating designs and managing the information life cycle of buildings within a 3D Virtual Building model.
Unlike mice confined to motion on two flat planes, 3Dconnexion's 3D mice allow effortless movement and control within the 3D workspace of ArchiCAD 11. By simply moving the controller cap, a 3D CAD designer can simultaneously pan, zoom and rotate without stopping to select commands. An increase in pressure accelerates motion while a decrease in pressure slows motion for precise micro-adjustments.
"The Virtual Building has always been fundamental to our clients' practices," said Miklos Szovenyi-Lux, director of product management at Graphisoft. "Now, the 3Dconnexion SpaceNavigator makes it even easier to maneuver the Virtual Building in 3D - you can almost touch it."
"We are very excited to be entering the AEC market with support by Graphisoft, a leader in model-based software for the building industry," said Ziva Nissan, 3Dconnexion's director of product marketing. "This is a great leap in efficiency and productivity for architects as our 3D mice offer precise and effortless control of 3D models and scenes within ArchiCAD."
3Dconnexion enhances the 3D design experience, providing advanced and affordable products that are supported by more than 100 of today's most popular 3D applications, including Autodesk Maya, Autodesk 3ds Max, Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended, Cinema 4D, form-Z, and all of the top-tier 3D CAD applications.
