Artlandia Announces Support for Mac OS Tiger and Illustrator CS2
Artlandia, Inc., maker of popular pattern design software, has released an updated version of Artlandia SymmetryWorks for Adobe Illustrator CS2 and confirmed the compatibility of earlier releases of SymmetryWorks 3 with Mac OS 10.4 Tiger. Version 3.12 is an enhancement of Artlandia's productivity tool, which transformed the once painstaking process of creating repeating patterns for web and surface designers, textile artists, and other creative professionals.
Similar to earlier releases of Artlandia SymmetryWorks 3, the new version supports both vector and raster motifs that the user can interactively edit and see the real-time changes in the seamless pattern re-created by the plug-in on the fly. With new Illustrator CS2 features, such as the context-sensitive control palette, custom workspaces, and easy access to creative assets through Adobe Bridge, the plug-in further streamlines the workflow for pattern designers.
Primarily a compatibility release, SymmetryWorks 3.12 also includes for the first time a collection of interactive samples from the new Artlandia Glossary of Pattern Design.
The glossary is launched on the web at http://www.artlandia.com/wonderland/glossary as a free public resource for all interested in pattern design. SymmetryWorks users can now open the samples from the glossary in Illustrator to easily learn to create similar designs by example.
SymmetryWorks 3.12 is available immediately for all Mac OS and Windows platforms on which Adobe supports Illustrator CS2, including Mac OS X 10.3.4 through 10.3.8 and Windows 2000 and XP. Mac OS 10.4 is supported with the earlier releases of SymmetryWorks 3. A compatibility solution of Version 3.12 for Mac OS 10.4 is expected after the release of the OS 10.4-compatible version of Illustrator CS2.
The update, including the interactive glossary collection, is free to SymmetryWorks 3 users. Users of earlier versions can upgrade for $75 (download) or $99 (printed user guide).
