Designer Kenneth Hirst "Belongs" to the Moment for Celine Dion Parfums
Light is captured and reflected within the pentagonal, silver-collared bottle for "Belong" (Coty Beauty) which marks Celine Dion's second fragrance collaboration with designer Kenneth Hirst, who also designed her debut hit "Celine Dion" for Celine Dion Parfums. Hirst has also designed fragrance bottles for Jennifer Lopez's "Still", for Tommy Hilfiger, and has two men's fragrances scheduled for later 2005 introduction.
"The classic glass design for 'Belong' drew its inspiration from Celine's strong yet sensual personality while incorporating her lucky number five in its pentagonal shaped glass and imprinted classic silver coin-like shoulder," said Hirst. "The overall tone is simple and pure, in homage to Celine's self-confident, quietly passionate approach to life. This design is about the real woman who loves life and follows her heart."
Hirst personally presented his design to Celine, after her Las Vegas show, to a most positive reception. "Since we had studied the Dion mystique and worked closely together on her first fragrance, creating 'Belong' was a much simpler design process. Once again, the lucky 5 yen coin that Celine found as a child offered a key to the design, which has her name engraved on its silver shoulder vaguely reminiscent of Japanese coins."
By the end of the first quarter 2005, the house of Celine Dion had amassed global sales approaching $100 million. The tagline "Belong to the Moment" is meant to reveal the candid, offstage persona of Dion.
