American Express Announces 'The IN:NYC(SM) Card 2005 Must-Have Accessory Contest' Winner

Winning Design to Be Showcased Tonight at Gen Art's Styles 2005, Seventh Annual International Design Competition & Fashion Show

American Express announced today that Ambriel Floyd, up-and-coming fashion accessory designer, is the winner of "The IN:NYC Card 2005 Must-Have Accessory Contest," an online competition at http://www.innyc.com. The competition, which began May 9th through May 15th, encouraged New Yorkers to vote on their favorite IN:NYC accessory out of three design finalists selected by Gen Art.

Ambriel Floyd created the hottest New York accessory using the criteria of construction, style, presentation and creativity to integrate the IN:NYC Card. The winning concept, "All I Need IN:NYC" will be showcased this evening, Tuesday, May 17th at Gen Art's Styles 2005, Seventh Annual International Design Competition and Fashion Show at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. The IN:NYC Card from American Express is the Official Card of Gen Art New York and the Presenting Partner of Gen Art's Styles 2005.

Ambriel Floyd recently launched her own line of accessories in New York and is known for her unique designs. The winning creation is a fashionable all-purpose accessory, perfect for New Yorkers who want to combine style with a busy lifestyle. The three-part accessory forms a stylish military-style bag with the shoulder strap doubling as a military belt. Attached to the bag is a brass charm clutch with an IN:NYC logo card holder, a collection of charms, a key holder and a small heart-shaped pouch embellished with crystals that read IN:NYC. Check out the winning IN:NYC must-have accessory at http://www.innyc.com.

"It is no secret that having the right accessory is important to New Yorkers," said Bruce Sibley, Vice President for the IN:NYC Card for American Express. "We're pleased to sponsor the creation of the next head-turning accessory created by Ambriel Floyd and inspired by the IN:NYC Card."

The accessories created by the design finalists will be given to three lucky consumers who took part in the voting for "The IN:NYC Card 2005 Must- Have Accessory Contest." The runners-up, Jessica Alpert-Goldman and design duo, Lily Rafi and Sulaika Zarrouk, will also showcase their stylish designs at Gen Art's Styles 2005 alongside the winning accessory.

Jessica Alpert-Goldman, whose World According to Jess handbags have already gained a celebrity following, created the concept "Hey Big Spender" for the contest. The elegant evening bag is made up of conjoined American Express IN:NYC Cards, designed to carry all of the night's essential necessities.

The duo Lily Rafi and Sulaika Zarrouk, who recently launched handbags by Felix Ray, introduced their contemporary concept, "Clutch Your Card." The shiny black mesh clutch bag features a screen print of the American Express IN:NYC Card design on the front and the back features the historic American Express slogan, "Don't leave home without it."
