Anthony Nak Announces Provisional Patent Rights in the Company's Signature Jewelry Designs
Jewelry makers Anthony Camargo and Nak Armstrong of Anthony Nak, Inc. announced today that the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office formally published two patent applications relating to the company's signature jewelry designs, which feature stones encased in chains or rings. The patent applications, under application numbers 10/768,726 and 10/768,973, were published on May 5, 2005, and April 14, 2005, respectively, and can be reviewed on the official website of the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office by visiting http://appft1.uspto.gov/netahtml/PTO/srchnum.html and entering publication numbers 20050092023 and 20050076507.
The patent applications cover certain aspects of Anthony Nak's jewelry designs, including but not limited to the attachment of rings, chains or netting to the stone, as well as the method of making such jewelry. Under U.S. patent law, the published applications provide provisional rights that allow the company, upon the issuance of the patents, to collect reasonable royalties for any patent infringement that occurs after the publication of the applications, provided that other statutory requirements are met. This provisional patent protection also serves to supplement Anthony Nak's existing rights under copyright, trademark and trade dress laws.
"Our objective is to protect the unique and innovative process and designs that we have painstakingly developed and that have been very well received in the marketplace," said Camargo co founder of Anthony Nak. Armstrong adds, "We believe that our provisional patent applications once approved will further enhance the integrity and value of our signature products."
