Thunderbird Announces Invited Artists for Maynard Dixon Country 2005 Forty of America's finest artists have confirmed their participation in Maynard Dixon Country 2005, an annual invitational art show and paint-out sponsored by the Thunderbird Foundation for the Arts. Maynard Dixon Country 2005 will be held at the historic Maynard Dixon property in Mt. Carmel, Utah, August 24-28, 2005. The Invited Artists for this year's event represent the best in visual art true to the legacy of Dixon.

Maynard Dixon Country embodies the approach to modernism and simplicity Dixon practiced in his quest for artistic excellence. The property, surrounded by some of the most stunning terrain of the American Southwest, serves as a site of inspiration for the artists. A preview of the art in the show will be Friday, August 26, from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, August 27, a wet painting sale of the work produced by the artists during their stay in Mt. Carmel will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a gala reception from 5 to 10 p.m. An open house on Sunday, August 28, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. concludes the schedule of events.
