The Nokia Car Kit Ck-10: Innovative Design
New Nokia Car Kit: innovative design and compatibility with many mobile holders
Monte Carlo, Monaco - The new Nokia Car Kit (CK-10) is a basic handsfree system equipped with all the functions that a motorist needs most*. Yet, it is priced competitively and offers a simplified installation thanks to an integrated microphone and an innovative "sandwich" concept. What makes this car kit special is the fact that the ultra thin handsfree unit is installed between the mobile holder and the mounting plate, in the visible area of the vehicle interior. In order to make installing the Car Kit even easier, the microphone has been integrated into the handsfree unit. The simplified installation reduces the installation time potentially lowering the installation costs. Nokia recommends having the car kit installed only by qualified specialists. A wide range of mobile holders can be used with the new car kit: The Nokia Car Kit (CK-10) is compatible with the following Nokia mobile holders: CR-1, CR-5, CR-21, CR-23, MBC-6, MBC-10, MBC-13L, MBC-14M, MBC-15S, MBC-16, MBC-17, MBC-19, MBD-10, MBD-11. This makes the Car Kit (CK-10) compatible with several Nokia mobile phone models. Some mobile holders also support inductive coupling, allowing for the connection of an external GSM antenna to enhance the network coverage. In handsfree mode, the radio's mute function can be used. An option is to connect a separate microphone (MP-2) with the handsfree system. "This new car kit is designed for users who demand good handsfree functions at an attractive price," says Uwe Pertz, General Manager Consumer Products, Nokia Automotive. The new car kit is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2005 in Europe, Asia, China and America.
