LooneyTunes.com Gets a 'Toon Up; All New Looney Tunes Shorts Debut; New Content Loonier Than Ever!
GLENDALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 9, 2004--Warner Bros. Online has officially unveiled the new LooneyTunes.com web site with the first original Looney Tunes shorts (online or offline) in more than a year, it was announced today by Jim Noonan, SVP and General Manager of Warner Bros. Online. Visitors to www.looneytunes.com will also find more games, a new Showcase section where fans can get the latest Looney Tunes news, an updated Looney Shop and even more Looney Loot!
"Known for their irreverence and timeless humor, it is always a lot of fun to create new content featuring these beloved characters," said Noonan. "Looney Tunes fans are among the most passionate and we look forward to rolling out a wide variety of new activities featuring their favorite characters."
The Looney Tunes shorts are the first original productions of this kind to be seen in a year. The web shorts feature popular Looney Tunes characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig in a broad array of zany sketches, including, to name a few:
-- Parallel Porked -- Daffy shows up to take his driver's license test and hopes it will be a cakewalk -- but thanks to Porky Pig, the test is anything but easy.
-- H2 Uh-Oh! -- Daffy hogs the neighborhood's water for his own amusement park pleasure -- but who will be all wet in the end?
-- The Cat Stays In The Picture -- In a stylistic nod to the classic Looney Tunes, this short features Sylvester and Tweety at a Hollywood movie premiere!
Other new features on the site include:
-- Games, games, games: "Inferior Lifeform!" or "Lucky Earthling!" are two of the things Marvin the Martian may say mockingly while visitors play Marvin's Speed, one of several new games premiering on LooneyTunes.com. Other games include Daffy Duck's Dodgeball, Foghorn Leghorn's "Thanks But No Thanks" and Taz's Munch and Crunch.
-- Looney Loot: "Eh, what's that on your screen, doc?" Bugs, Daffy, Tweety and other favorites are featured in a series of all new screensavers, wallpapers and buddy icons.
