A Master Piece: The Limits of a Craftsman and a Designer
By this chair Adnan Serbest is expressing himself by traditional material with only playing with the geometrical lines.
This chair has been created for people who search for uniquness and who know the power of signalization and expression of unique personality.
This chair is first thought to be only a chair. It looks very simple at your first glance, but the properties which makes it more than a chair, No.7, reveal themselves very slowly and secretly.
Seen from five meters away, No. 7 seems like a normal, cold, almost banal kind of a chair; but observed from 30 centimeters, it is the epitome of extraordinary details and technical refinement, making it unique and exceptional - a masterpiece.
Achieving What is Simple The design is the details of craftsmanship, the material and the form which lead to a full realisation of true simplicity. The designer prefers instead of walking near the design, living in the heart of it.
A craftsman's material is a limitation of his abilities and creativity. A designer's unlimited introverted feelings are the keys of his imagination. This chair is the symbol of the war between a craftsman and a designer, making it a chair. When the details of the chair are explored, the perfect and smooth scars of this war can be seen. These scars are the combination of traditional materials with unusual shapes.
It is time to express real emotions. No need to load new meanings.
No.7; is his dreams, culture, reality, sincerity, technic, intellectuality, passion, simplicity, maturity, sensibility, mastery.
Finally, Adnan Serbest put his soul on his design.
