B|W|R PPI is proud to announce its involvement with an exciting new fashion media property, The MODUS Project, a new magazine, website and fashion event that takes a fresh perspective on "what's next" in the Southern California fashion and lifestyle market.
The brainchild of Primedia's Action Sports Group, the MODUS Project is overseen by veteran publisher Don Meek and edited by long time Surfer Magazine editor Steve Hawk, and taps the creative energy, vision and expertise of the students of the highly regarded Otis College of Art + Design. The Modus Project will be the first of its kind to put the editorial content wholly in the hands of fashion's next great protégés, giving the market a true view into the future.
The Modus Project will publish twice yearly and will track all the hottest trends coming out of fashion's hottest designers as spotted by the students at OTIS. Launching in September 2006 at the Action Sports Retailer Tradeshow, the magazine will be distributed as a shrink-wrapped addition to Surfing, Surfer and Snowboarder magazines, and will enjoy a guaranteed distribution of 210,000 to subscribers and specialty newsstands nationwide. In addition to a 140-page magazine, the MODUS Project includes a deeply interactive website and world-class fashion event.
The Action Sports Group is a division of Primedia and includes such popular titles as Surfer, Surfing, Skateboarder, Snowboarder, Powder, Bike, Climbing and Canoe & Kayak as well as digital properties Fantasy Surfer and Wavewatch.com. Known as well for such great events as The Surfer Poll Awards and The Powder Poll Awards, the ASG is the forerunner in the action sports media market.
