Good Design Loves Company
Planet Propaganda Creates Bretford Ad for Metropolis
Planet Propaganda created Bretford Furniture's "Good Design Loves Company" advertisement specifically for Metropolis' 25th anniversary edition. Published on the coveted inside back cover, the prominent April ad matches the issue's editorial direction commemorating influential design and designers. Building on this theme, Planet focused on Bretford's collaboration with great designers including Formway Design of New Zealand, Bang Design of Australia, and its new marketing alliance with U.S.-based Herman Miller, Inc.
Herman Miller, the leading brand in the business furniture market and widely recognized for its design, innovative products and business practices, is Bretford's exclusive, new distributor of Contract furniture. Herman Miller sought Bretford for its compatible aesthetics, problem-solving design, and technology integration.
Beyond the innovation and quality of its furniture design, Bretford's marketing materials also were praised. "For the past four years, we've worked with Planet Propaganda to elevate our brand. They've helped us firmly position ourselves as a recognized competitor that's passionately filling the void between form and function in this design-savvy business furniture market," explains Chris Petrick, Bretford's director of marketing. "The work Planet's done with us to re-brand our company and launch products like the Liquid Workspace has helped us increase sales and generate tremendous attention."
Petrick continues, "Herman Miller took a look at our product brochures, website, and ads and were blown away by them. This is the first time they've had an alliance partner whose product collateral and site were on par with Herman Miller's own high standards for well-designed communication tools. Planet's work has impacted our business and our relationship with Herman Miller." He adds that the marketing alliance with Herman Miller represents "a phenomenal opportunity for us to introduce our products to a much wider audience. And Planet will continue to help us carry that message to them."
"It makes perfect sense that these arbiters of good design would partner and that Metropolis would be one of the first places to introduce their alliance," says Suz Harms, brand manager at Planet Propaganda. The ad spotlights designers who've partnered with Bretford with the headline "Good Design Loves Company" and tagline "A Higher Form of Function."
Planet Propaganda is a design, advertising and interactive company committed to shaping passion-based brands. Founded in 1989 in Madison, Wis., Planet's national clients include Gary Fisher mountain bikes, Bretford furniture and workspaces, PunchStock royalty-free images, and Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches.
