Jade Jagger for YOO
John Hitchcox, Philippe Starck and YOO have joined forces with Jade Jagger to create "Jade Jagger for YOO", an exciting new concept in residential property design and development. As creative director of "Jade Jagger for YOO" Jade will take on the role as concept designer. She will be collaborating closely with YOO's John Hitchcox and Philippe Starck, and with her long-term business partner, designer Tom Bartlett.
Over the last five years John Hitchcox and Philippe Starck's YOO brand has garnered a reputation as one of the most innovative and visionary property developers in the world. The YOO name has redefined the conventions of residential design and property marketing, injecting verve, wit and personality into every project the company takes on.
There are now over 4000 YOO apartments, equating to over US$2 billion worth of development worldwide and partnerships under way in many different cities and countries including, Moscow, Boston, Miami, Tel Aviv, New York, Sydney, Seoul, Germany, Austria, Madrid, Melbourne, Argentina, and Phuket Thailand.
YOO is currently working on 5 buildings over 40 storeys.
Designer Jade Jagger is world famous for her unique style. She currently holds the prestigious position as creative director of Garrard, designing lovingly crafted, traffic-stopping pieces for Britain's royal jeweller. Her creative input at Garrard (a job described by Vogue as "a killer appointment") is widely regarded as the driving force behind the Garrard brand's radical face-lift.
Biographies
Philippe Starck The most celebrated and commercially successful designer in the world, Philippe Starck's cool brand of quirky modernism and vigorously egalitarian ethos have furnished him with bonafide rock star status. With Starck, every project, no matter how large or small, instantly becomes an event. In turns, unpredictable but also instantly recognisable, his work has included products as diverse as a motorcycles, hotels and lemon squeezers. Collaborating with John Hitchcox and YOO on residential developments all over the world, Starck's creative input has been key to achieving the YOO brand's healthy media profile and distinctive, "democratic, high-fashion living" philosophy.
John Hitchcox John is Europe's most innovative design-based property developer. As co-founder of The Manhattan Loft Corporation, he is credited with establishing New York-style loft-living in London and profoundly influencing the residential market at the heart of the UK with pioneering projects in Clerkenwell, Soho, Notting Hill, Canary Wharf and Bankside. Collaborating with Philippe Starck he established the highly innovative YOO company five years ago and is now responsible for over 4000 YOO apartments (over US$2 billion worth of properties) in 15 different countries. All of the projects have been pre-sold at faster rates and well above neighbouring projects prices, proving that good design adds value.
A new, US$250 million YOO project in Miami - 300 waterfront apartments in a 44 storey tower - was recently completed and opened on 3rd December 2004 after just 18 months of construction. The project was all pre-sold within a matter of weeks of commencing marketing and now some people are re-selling on completion at close to double the prices a year ago.
Jade Jagger Jade began her career as an artist in the late 1980's. She held numerous successful exhibitions of her works before her freewheeling entrepreneurial spirit led her to set up Jade Inc. applying a colourful, bohemian aesthetic to bespoke fine jewellery and leather goods. She was appointed fine jeweller to Garrard in September 2000. Now globally feted for both her laid-back London/Ibiza lifestyle and her keen eye for design, Jade's maverick sensibility, combining high-rolling luxury and simple hippy values, has earned her critical acclaim in newspapers and magazines the world over.
Tom Bartlett Designer Tom Bartlett has worked with Jade Jagger for five years and was responsible for the interior and many pieces of furniture in her beautiful Ibiza home. A graduate of University College London, his eclectic work combines "contemporary design with tradition values" with an emphasis on understated, upscale luxury. Now one of London's hottest names, Tom has also completed highly regarded interior concepts for Dan McMillan, the Maddox Street Hotel, the new Cutler and Gross and Garrard's flagship stores in Moscow, London and Dubai.
