72andSunny Sends Off Founding Partner Greg Perlot to Head Up Quiksilver U.S. Marketing
Los Angeles-based brand strategy, design and advertising company 72andSunny announced today that co-founder Greg Perlot will be leaving the company to become SVP of Marketing for Quiksilver in the Americas. It's a return to the client side for Perlot, who spent a good part of the 90s running global brand communications for Microsoft, where the 72andSunny partners originally met.
"This is a great opportunity for Greg and a great next chapter for our company," said 72andSunny co-founder Glenn Cole. "We've long passed the point where 72andSunny is about the partners. We've cultivated an amazing group of leaders here that will get to spread their wings even more now. Plus, I can have his parking spot. Just kidding, we never gave him a parking spot."
Perlot departs as the agency completes its fourth year of unprecedented momentum and growth. Named one of Advertising Age's 2007 global "agencies to watch," 72andSunny hasn't disappointed, launching work in 2007 for Cherry Coke, Zune Arts, Bugaboo, Nike+, Quiksilver and G4, and winning various new assignments, including Discovery Channel's brand relaunch. The company has also accepted multiple creative honors, including having work inducted into New York's Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection.
"I'm looking forward to the new challenge at Quiksilver. They're already like family over there," said Perlot. "Plus, I'll have opportunities to keep working with the guys at 72andSunny. Best of both worlds in a way."
To further position the company for growth, 72andSunny also announced the appointment of four key leadership positions.
Holly Kasun Brand Director Holly Kasun joins 72andSunny from Nike Europe where she managed digital commerce for Nikestore.com. Kasun will lead strategy and implementation for various 72andSunny brands including Quiksilver, and will work closely with Brand Directors Alex Schneider and Sandra Ajanaku, and Insights Planning Director Ethan Decker to lead all of 72andSunny's business.
Jason Norcross and Bryan Rowles Creative Directors Jason Norcross and Bryan Rowles have been promoted to Creative Director from Senior Writer and Senior Designer, respectively. The pair has been instrumental in creating some of 72andSunny's most high profile work, including Xbox 360, DC Shoes, Avia, G4 and Zune Arts.
Jack Hook COO Jack Hook, who joined 72andSunny a year ago as Chief Financial Officer, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer, overseeing all aspects of the company's financial, legal and infrastructure operations. Hook has a wealth of international operations experience, including positions at Coca-Cola and Allied Domecq.
