Ingeo Fiber Debuts at Olympus Fashion Week
 Moral Fervor
Spring 2007 Shows Include Prominent Designers Using the World's First Man-made Fiber From 100% Annually Renewable Resources
Having made an impressive debut in fashion circles in 2003, Ingeo fiber has already threaded its way into some winning outfits produced by designers from across the globe. And, looking at the new Spring/Summer 2007 collections, Ingeo fiber can certainly expect to celebrate even greater success in the year to come.
Just three years after its worldwide launch, Ingeo fiber held a high-impact, global event - Earth Month 2006 - celebrating Ingeo fiber products and highlighting worldwide issues of sustainability. The event had the support of more than 50 companies which for the first time included both home furnishing and personal hygiene companies. No small feat for such a young fiber!
Last year, Ingeo fiber enjoyed positioning within more than fifty retail outlets. This year the number has expanded to more than 600 stores worldwide-a number that continues to grow. Today, three young designers are launching new Ingeo fiber products in their Spring 2007 Collections during Olympus Fashion Week in New York City. Among them are:
Moral Fervor A young brand based in the U.S., Moral Fervor firmly believes that through their unique designs they can raise awareness for the environmental, social and political issues close to their hearts. Their t-shirt collections are inspired by important worldwide issues with the aim of making the consumer aware and inspiring them to act by taking responsibility for the world we live in and the one that we leave to future generations.
Moral Fervor's Spring 2007 collection (which will also feature natural fibers bamboo and lyocell) uses Ingeo fiber within t-shirt designs for women. The Fall 2007 collection will also feature designs for men. The t-shirts are made of Tintex fabric displaying images in print and embroidery that evoke nature. The collections are inspired by endangered species as well as the importance of biodiversity. For a truly holistic range, the t-shirts will also be packaged in materials made from bio-based NatureWorks PLA.
A fashion show launching the designs will be held in New York on the 6th of September, 2007 and non-woven Ingeo fiber bags will be produced as gifts for the party. What's more, the t-shirts will be available online through http://www.moralfervor.com where their autumn 2006 t-shirts (also made entirely from Ingeo fiber) will be made available throughout the USA, Canada and Europe. 10 percent of the company's proceeds go to Partners in Health, a non-profit organization that helps low income people from around the world through curing disease and improving standards of living.
Linda Loudermilk Linda Loudermilk has always been a committed pioneer of eco fashion, without compromise. It is no surprise therefore that she is currently developing a sustainable collection using natural raw materials such as bamboo, soy and, for first time in her work, Ingeo fiber.
Linda Loudermilk's work will be on display at the Train Trade Show during New York Fashion Week. Expect to see her existing denim collection and an Ingeo fiber range made from a selection of Tintex, Calamai and Chia Her fabrics. http://www.lindaloudermilk.com/
Elisa Jimenez Elisa Jimenez is an artist who moved into the fashion arena in 1999. Renowned for her expressive style, fusing fashion and art with her unique "free cutting" construction style, Elisa will be launching a high fashion couture dress, made from Ingeo fiber.
At the Mixed Greens Gallery in Chelsea during Olympus Fashion Week, she will show several looks on the runway, linking to her "10 yrs with Change: a Celebration of an Accidental Collaborative Career" - a retrospective look at her ten years in fashion. The dresses will reflect the ultimate fashion of the time, showing high couture, as well as two-piece outfits based on years of collaboration with specific clients. Each client will wear their inspired Ingeo fiber piece which will reflect elements of both couture and works of art. One-of-a-kind, these pieces may be made available to stores upon request.
Beyond Fashion Week, other upcoming designers and collections using Ingeo include:
Naturevsfuture 'Naturevsfuture' was established in the spring of 2002 as an artistic statement in the form of clothing. The brand fuses classic with cutting edge and deconstruction with a refined elegance to create a highly unique look. Blending natural and futuristic fabric with architectural designs, NVF is a new breed of organic futurism in clothing. Ingeo products include a light weight jacket/blazer and shirtdress made entirely from annually renewable fibers.
Socks and Hosiery Applied to hosiery, Ingeo fiber delivers an ideal combination of comfort, performance and aesthetics. Natural in origin, Ingeo fiber is ideal for socks and hosiery making them soft and comfortable to wear. Breathable and highly stain-resistant, Ingeo fiber is an obvious choice for hosiery innovation.
The leading group of USA hosiery mills; Fox River, Twin City Knitting - first presented a collection of Ingeo fiber products in November 2005 with the support of the Hosiery Technology Center in Tokyo. Japan was the perfect choice for this launch because it is home to one of the most demanding and sophisticated hosiery markets in the world.
Fox River Mills recently launched a line of Ingeo fiber performance and sport socks at Outdoor Retail and Magic. The collection will include both quarter and full crew styles using spun and filament Ingeo fiber yarns. This substantial launch by Fox River will be positioned within their Fox River Brand and will include other organic and eco-friendly products.
Fox River has recently launched a program with Nordstroms Department Stores under the retailer's own brand of women's sport socks.
Twin City Knitting recently launched a line of sport and active wear socks for autumn 2006 / spring 2007 at Outdoor Retail and at Magic in July. The new line includes socks for all ages; from kids to men and women with styles and sizes varying.
