Heavenspot Creates Idents for *eckoTV

Heavenspot, a full service interactive agency located in Hollywood, California, has recently completed a series of branded ID's for *eckoTV, Episode 2. The DVD show, brought to you by entrepreneur Marc Ecko, features a variety of thrilling pop culture related segments of Action Sports, Drifter Cars, Break Dancing and more.
The project was motivated by *eckoTV's desire to extend their branding, as well as the show's distribution. The branded ID's serve to enhance the presentation of *eckoTV's segments with engaging animation.
The package includes one main open and three additional full screen animations, two of which were used as show bumpers. The main open involves a complete 3D environment, developed to stage the transforming 3D rhino. Conceptually, the rhino was designed to reflect the *eckoTV brand. The animation starts with a close up of the progressive model. The rhino then runs through a lighted hallway and jumps in the air, transforming into the EckoTV logo. The piece also includes cutting edge sound design, created to draw the viewer closer to the brand.
One of the primary challenges of creating the main animation was developing a rig for the rhino that could be animated and seamlessly transform into the *eckoTV logo. Chevon Hicks, Creative Director of Heavenspot, says that the company is currently working on *eckoTV, Episode 3 and they are excited to launch the next round of creative for the show.
Work on the project began in June 2006 and was completed in the beginning of August 2006. All design, animation and production was completed in Heavenspot's Hollywood, CA, headquarters. The project was created using Photoshop CS2 / IllustratorCS2 for design, Maya 8.0 and After Effects 7.0 for Animation, Composting and Modeling. All sound design was completed in Pro Tools.
