The concept for blanket magazine budded from a conversation between two friends. It was the idea that during our working day we wanted a place to go to get a quick fix of inspiration. Even though we work in creative industries we found ourselves so bogged down in the day to day bread and butter work that we craved a fix of inspiration to slap us back into our happy creative place. We knew we weren't the only ones who needed this. Thus the concept of blanket was formed.
Blanket, as the name suggests, covers (excuse the pun) the whole range of art and design related pursuits. Our idea is to 'uncover' (sorry bad pun again!) not only the art but the people who create the art. We want our magazine to be interactive and informative where every designer can come to get their fix for the day. Blanket was born in Brisbane, Australia and aims to reach creatives not only in Australia but across the globe.
To make this dream a reality we are seeking artists, photographers and designers - which is where you come in! ISSUE 1 - THEME: YELLOW
Re_action action in response to some influence, event, etc. The influence in this case is blanket magazine. each issue we give you a theme and you react to this theme with a creative response. Apart from the theme, there are no limitations or creative boundaries. submissions can be in the form of art, design or photography. how you choose to express the theme is up to you. Deadline November 19th 2006. (image specs below)
