Art Courses and Jewelry Workshop by Sabrina Fresko in Istanbul

SIMYA GALLERY SEMINAR PROGRAMME FOR 2006-2007 SEASON
JEWELLRY WORKSHOP IN ISTANBUL The jewellry workshops shall continue to take place every week on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday between 10:30 - 13:30. Architect and jewelry designer Sabrina Fresko will be leading the workshop. Impressionism in Jewellry.
Impressionism is a trend of art more than a technique which was developed at the beginning of 20th century first in painting, then in music. Its specialty is to reflect visual reality with light, colour and texture. We see that for the first time in the history of art, the artist has become free and has started to think about interpreting the work of art instead of making the same as original and to develop techniques to succeed.
In the period of 2006-2007, I'd like to work on Impressionism at Simya Gallery Jewellry Workshop.
I have two main reasons for choosing Impressionism as the subject:
1. Interpreting jewellry with artistic thought. 2. Explore various techniques, texture, forms and diversity this wide-ranging subject will imply.
The best example of impressionist approach to jewellry can be found in British jewellry artist Wendy Ramshaw's book "Picasso's Ladies". The artist has interpreted jewellry by observing Picasso's paintings of women and has reached very interestig forms and techniques.
We'll start our jewellry courses at Simya Gallery with a general impressionist work, then we will start interpreting works of art.

Romantism has been lived with every artist in every age. But with its more intense and exaggurated reflection on the artistic works in 19th century, romantism became the identity of this period. The adventures of composers who take wings in a world of fantasies and images, seek the unreachable, pity themselves, complain about not being understood, reflect their spiritual ups and downs on to their work and escape limiting their boundless works of art with structural frames and whose techniques become complicated as they reflected the complexity of their inner worlds to their artistic works.
