Blue Room Refreshes History Brand

Blue Room, the award-winning creative services agency, collaborated with The History Channel to refresh the network's brand name, History, energize the logo and look so that it aligns the brand name with its many applications. The new look was unveiled in February.
Of History's six-month collaboration with the Blue Room creative team History Senior Vice President of Marketing Chris Moseley explained, "In the very preliminary rounds Blue Room clearly understood how to maintain the equity of our logo and the gold H that has been such a key part of our heritage. They kept the work fresh and contemporary while respecting our equity."
History VP of On-Air Promotions Timothy Nolan added, "Not only did the graphics and design team at Blue Room refresh History's identity, their design work extended across our entire portfolio of History brands. Overall they have created an outstanding new package."
"In creating a refreshed visual identity for History it was important for us to embrace the strengths of their logo -the bold H. While maintaining its integrity, new design elements became a strong addition to the logomark, connecting past to present while evoking forward motion," stated Blue Room's Creative Director Brian Aumueller.
"The refreshed History logo has an intrinsic sense of leadership, energy and motion, and is designed to create a more personal connection with viewers," added Blue Room CEO/Executive Producer Chris Gargani.
The Blue Room design team, led by Creative Director Brian Aumueller and CEO/Executive Producer Chris Gargani included Senior Designer Steve Harper; Designers/Animators/3D Animators Chieh Yen, Jorge Peschiera and Yoshiyuki Nakahashi; and Freelance Animators Anthony Serraino and Leah E'sperance.
Blue Room utilized Mac Pro workstations, with eight core Intel processors, running Adobe After Effects CS3, Illustrator CS3 and Photoshop CS3 as well as Alias Maya for 3D in the execution of this project.
Representing History were SVP of Marketing Chris Moseley and VP of On-Air Promotions Timothy Nolan.
