Claremont Group Interiors Demonstrates Working Wisdom
Claremont Group Interiors, the UK's largest commercial design and fit out practice outside London, has started the new year with a bang by achieving a Work Wise UK Mark of Excellence, the first company in its sector to gain the award. The Mark of Excellence is given to firms who have displayed a progressive strategy for the adoption and deployment of smarter and more flexible working practices. The overall objective of the award is to increase the number of people working flexibly in the UK to 14m by 2011.
To achieve the award, Claremont was assessed on the adoption of flexible working practices and meeting key objectives which take into account the degree of flexibility offered to employees, their levels of self-determination and the operational benefits enjoyed by the organisation. Work Wise UK commended Claremont on its development of a flexible working environment supported by a strong IT infrastructure to help individuals to manage their time to work both privately and come together as project teams as they need.
Commenting on the award, managing director Mike Gardner said: 'the underlying message is about how we offer people the freedom to manage their time, both to improve their own lives but also to empower them to focus on meeting the needs of clients. It is especially important for us to demonstrate best practice because our own business is about working with clients to create the best ways of integrating people, technology, business culture and the working environment.'
