Identity: Best of the Best 2008 International Jury Announced
Identity magazine has announced the international jury for its annual award scheme, Identity: Best of the Best 2008. Now in its third year, the competition is endorsed by Icograda.
Included in this year's jury are: Steff Geissbuhler, C&G Partners (USA); Shigeo Fukuda, President of JAGDA and Japanese representative to AGI (Japan); Miles Newlyn, freelance designer (UK); Garry Emery, Hon Fellow, Royal Australian Institute of Architects, design director of emerystudio (Australia); Afonso Maria Sacchetti Rebello de Souza, Shift design (Portugal); Stefan Weil, Creative Director and CEO, Atelier Markgraph (Germany); Brigitte Evrard, Co-founder, Pentawards (Belgium); Alex de Janosi, Partner, Lippincott Mercer (USA); Vanja Cuculic, Founder and art director, Studio Cuculic (Croatia); Olga Parzhitskaya, Co-founder and CEO, StoneGarden (Ukraine); Elie Papiernik, Co-founder and design director, Centdegres (France); and Michel de Boer, Creative director, Studio Dumbar (Netherlands).
The 2007 Call for Entries attracted 970 submissions from 26 countries across 10 award categories. For 2008, the award categories have been expanded to 12, six for logos and trademarks and six for corporate identity and package design. Categories include:

In both the pre-selection and judging of the submissions, the work is evaluated blind, to ensure the impartiality of the process. The pre-selection committee includes Robert Paulmann (Germany), Olga Pourtova (Russia) and Bill Gardner (USA). Qualifying work from the pre-selection process is evaluated on an 11 point scale (from 0 to 10 points) to determine the winning pieces.
All participants receive a free copy of Identity magazine with detailed results of the award scheme and best works catalogue. Winners and shortlisted designers in all categories receive a certificate. Two participants, chosen by Identity editorial team, will be invited to participate in judging of Identity: Best of the Best 2009. First place designers in each category receive a subscription to Identity magazine for 2008. The Grand Prix winner will be profiled in Identity magazine (Russian/English edition) and receive a free ticket to the international conference HiBrand 2008 Corporate Branding.
The deadline for entries is 15 January 2008.
