Leo a Daly Miami Welcomes Taghi Afkham as Senior Healthcare Project Manager
The Miami office of internationally renowned architecture, planning, engineering and interior design firm LEO A DALY is pleased to announce the appointment of Taghi Afkham as senior healthcare project manager. He will be responsible for leading the efforts and managing progress for various healthcare projects, as well as supervising the staff involved in them.
Afkham has more than 26 years of experience in design, planning, scheduling, and project management, and has specialized in healthcare project design and construction management. As the former director of capital projects at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, he has first-hand experience with project delivery acceleration and extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry. Some of Afkham's healthcare projects include the Doctors' Hospital in Coral Gables, Fla., South Beach Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Miami Beach, Fla., Memorial Hospital in Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Naples Community Hospital in Naples, Fla.
Additionally, Afkham is recognized as one of the most knowledgeable healthcare experts in the field of life safety as well as the regulatory guidelines of the State of Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) and Joint Commission.

Afkham holds a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture from the University of Miami. He is a registered architect and general building contractor in the state of Florida. He is also certified as a life safety code specialist by the Fire Service Institute, and as an accessibility code specialist by the Florida Accessibility Code for Building Construction.
Prior to joining LEO A DALY, Afkham established his own independent consulting firm in Florida. He also worked for more than four years at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, which is part of the Jackson Health System, one of the largest hospital systems in the nation. Additionally, he worked at AHCA as an architect, where he gained extensive knowledge of all AHCA codes and regulation related to healthcare facilities in the state of Florida.
