LEO A DALY Designs New Headquarters for American Society of Clinical Oncology
The Washington, D.C. office of international architecture, planning, engineering and interior design firm LEO A DALY is providing full architectural/engineering interior design services for the new headquarters of The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) in Alexandria, Va.
The 123,000 square feet of headquarters space will be situated on five floors of the Carlyle Overlook Building at 2318 Mill Road in Alexandria, Va. The building, which is currently under construction, is scheduled to be completed in April 2008. While occupying their space, the association plans to sublease one floor. LEO A DALY also is providing interior architecture services for the subleased floor.
The forward-looking design for ASCO's new consolidated headquarters will feature a conference center, private offices, atrium, interior connecting staircases, lobby space and a variety of flexible work areas to provide optimal communication within the organization. With alternative solutions for the intergenerational workforce, LEO A DALY designers provided quiet zones and active zones, and incorporated wireless and plug-and-play technologies into the design.
According to Lida Dersookian, IIDA, vice president and director of interior design with LEO A DALY's Washington office, "We are excited that our design will help create a singular identity for the American Society of Clinical Oncology. By creating dynamic, flexible workspaces, we will foster communication amongst the staff and further enhance the organization's cohesiveness."
