Se: A New Luxury Furniture Company
New UK-based furniture company Sé launches in February 2008 with a range of deluxe furniture and lighting. Sé's new showroom will be an exciting addition to the capital's burgeoning design scene based in London's Battersea.
Sé's Director is furniture expert Pavlo Schtakleff, who for a decade has been building and developing international furniture brands. The first collection comes from the studio of French designer Damien Langlois-Meurinne, and will consist of twenty six pieces including, seating, tables, upholstery, storage and lighting.
The inspiration for the first collection comes from Langlois-Meurinne's fascination with both materials and architecture. Geometric aluminium cabinets that ooze glamour; Corian tables that are fit for the grandest feast; sculptural bronze side tables; solid wood day beds in upholstered leather; side tables and credenzas using reflective materials that ripple and curve, giving this collection a distinct character.
Sé has invested heavily in the research and development of its collection. It has spent the last two years working with Langlois-Meurinne and various materials experts to enhance its knowledge, and to create a dynamic new use for these resources. The unusual use of materials is central to this first furniture collection
Fabricated in France and the UK, Sé's first collection is the ultimate in luxury furniture: hand-finished to the highest standards using only the best materials by master craftsmen. These range from cabinetmakers to aeronautical experts and technicians. As Pavlo Schtakleff explains, "Our aim is to create great designs with unsurpassable finishes and a long term value. Clients will enjoy our furniture for years to come and will serve to become heirlooms of the future."
Sé will be exhibiting their new furniture range to the general public for the first time at Maison et Objet.
