On Thursday, September 18th. Imaginary Forces Director of Experience Design Tali Krakowsky will be presenting at the Boards Creative Workshop Series, taking place at the UCLA Freud Playhouse in Los Angeles.
Titled "Building Fiction," Krakowsky will illustrate how the present and future of design and branding will reside in the new discipline of Experience Design.
New developments in the digital messaging landscape - whether in the form of interactive installations, web-based applications, gaming, or entertainment environments - are dramatically transforming the way brands communicate to their audiences.
Fiction meets science when interactive content, emerging media, cinematic storytelling and architecture come together to create Experience Design.
Re-imagining both media content and screens, Experience Design challenges traditional forms of content creation and expands the art of the digital into the realm of the physical.
In her DESIGNSHIFT session, Krakowsky will explore the potentials and possibilities of these smart, interactive spaces of play.
Recently, Krakowsky has also presented at numerous conferences and events including AIGA/Los Angeles' "Pro Sessions: Design Remixed," FITC Toronto, Hollywood, and Amsterdam, IIDEX in Toronto and FMX in Stuttgart.
She will next participate in the DesignThinkers event, taking place in Toronto in October.

Brand New School recently completed work on an emotional and cinematic-feeling spot for iconic technology company HP.
Directed by Brand New School Creative Director/Founder Jonathan Notaro for ad agency Goodby Silverstein & Partners, "E-Donor" wordlessly transforms the sad image of cast-off laptop into a magical child's tricycle - a symbolic testament to the power of recycling old technology.
Jonathan comments, "On one level this spot was fun because of the tonal contrast; our challenge was to move the viewer from a dark and ominous mood to one that ultimately becomes filled with warmth and light.
But most importantly, I like the abstraction and subtlety in the execution, the restraint we practiced and the abstract narrative.
We didn't feel like people had to see how everything comes together; instead we used the sequence of close-ups and cutaways to merely imply the story."

Behavior Design once again reunites with The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA),New York, to create the online companion piece and interactive touch screen kiosks for their latest exhibition, Kirchner and the Berlin Street.
The show brings together German expressionist painter Ernst Ludwig Kirchner's renowned Street Scenes series with 60 related prints and drawings.
The Kirchner project is the third major initiative Behavior Design has undertaken for MoMA, contributing the interactive components for both, Georges Seurat: The Drawings and Beyond the Visible, and The Art of Odilon Redon.
This latest collaboration addresses the growing contribution of digital media to viewing and experiencing art.
Behavior used the Kirchner project to expand their ongoing initiatives to innovatively integrate technology with art and worked closely with the MoMA team to develop inspired concepts and solutions.
Originally schooled in architecture, Kirchner rebelled and evolved his painting style through erratic and energetic compositions.
These contradictions carry into the site's design themes.
From the playful typographic scale and color relationships, to the juxtaposition and comparisons of form and details, the site reaches in and taps into the idiosyncracies of Kirchner himself, bringing his expressions to life.
Behavior sets the thematic tone by contextually super-imposing one of Kirchner's masterful color paintings over a faded image of a busy Berlin street corner.

Smoke & Mirrors New York in an on-going expansionary effort is pleased to announce the addition of 3D Generalist Wei Louie to their CG department.
Prior to joining SMNY, Wei Louie worked as a staff artist at Spontaneous for four years.
While there Wei collaborated on a multitude of music videos including Original of the Species by U2 and Hustlers by Nas.
Also contributing to the commercial industry, Wei's credits include AT&T, The Neiman Group, and Yu-Gi-Oh.
Wei was offered his first freelance 3D job fresh out of college, at Super-Fi, where he worked on graphics for VH1 Classics.
Noted as a gifted artist along the 3D pipeline, Wei is also a traditional artist, loving to draw and paint.
Wei has an A.A.S degree in Illustration and B.F.A. degree in Computer Animation from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.
SMNY Executive Producer, Celest Gilbert comments on the addition, "Wei has an impeccable talent and I admire his willingness to push boundaries."
