Boston University Launches Center for Digital Imaging ArtsDigital technology is here to stay and Boston University has responded with the launch of state-of-the-art programs and resources that will empower students and provide hands-on training to meet the demands of the 21st century. The new Center for Digital Imaging Arts (CDIA) is currently enrolling students of all ages and experience levels for a variety of certificate programs and workshops in digital filmmaking, photography, 3D animation, game design and visual effects.
Whether students are looking for intensive training through a nine-month certificate program or basic skills through a foundation certificate or workshop series, CDIA offers courses ranging from Beginning Photography for the Digital Age to Digital Film Boot Camp and all levels of Photoshop, editing, lighting, and real-world assignments. In addition to a variety of in-depth classes, instructors are part of the career services process and actively participate in portfolio reviews and fieldwork to help students meet their individual goals.
"The Center's coursework is designed to build both artistic and technical skills," says Bob Daniels, Executive Director of CDIA at Boston University. "The silos separating photography, filmmaking, graphic design, animation, and Web-based technologies are disappearing. Cross-training in the imaging arts
is essential for today's professional who must know how to create, adjust, respond, and publish at Internet speed."
