Mac Themed Animation a Flash Film Awards NomineeWilliam "Macboy" Levin's recently published cartoon Flash animation, NYMUG has been nominated as a finalist in the Flash Film Festival.
One of four finalists in the Story category, it's the only Mac themed animation in the contest.
"NYMUG which usually stands for 'New York Mac User Group,' takes on new meaning in this animated short based on a true story," Levin told MacCentral.
"When Kentucky boy Heath Gill moves to New York City and buys his first Mac, he gets more than he bargained for.
Our hero risks his life in a deadly struggle to save his Mac from the hands of a subway mugger. Despite his harrowing experience, Heath's passion for Macintosh perseveres."
The entire illustration and animation process for "NYMUG" was done on his PowerBook G3 500MHz Pismo, running Mac OS X 10.2 ("Jaguar") and using such software as Adobe Illustrator 10 and Macromedia Flash MX.
