British Columbia Fashion WeekThe organizers for BC Fashion Week announced that the Spring/Summer 2006 fashion week will take place September 27th to October 2nd, 2005, at the Performance Works Theatre on Granville Island in Vancouver, Canada.
With elevation of Canadian design both within Canada as well as internationally a primary focus, BC Fashion Week will expand their initiatives through partnering with other international fashion weeks and international associations and organizations to promote Canadian designers.
Fashion Weeks of other countries such as Prague and Greece have extended invitations to Canadian designers through BC Fashion Week.
With a goal of reciprocal support, Canadian designers have unique opportunities to participate as a guest representative of the Canadian apparel sector.
In addition to 20 collections being presented over 5 days, BC Fashion Week announced the addition of their Designer Development Series.
"The first day of fashion week will be a full day series of seminars focused the dynamics of trends, production, marketing and export readiness" stated Debra Walker, Executive Director BC Fashion Week.
