Radical Danish Fashion"UNIK: danish Fashion" opens to the public on June 10th, 2004 and remains open until 24 October 2004.
"Show us who you are - design three works that express the essence of yourselves!"
This was the challenge and the assignment for the fourteen young Danish fashion talents who in the exhibition "UNIK: danish fashion" offer an impression of where Danish fashion design stands today - and convincingly document that the Danish fashion designers belong in the young international fashion design league.
Each of the designers has created a unique universe in oversized wardrobes that create a magical world - experimental, inspiring and at times disturbing. The designers are: Rikke Ruhwald, Malene Birger, Isabel Berglund, Peter Jensen, Henrik Vibskov, Jens Laugesen, Susanne Rützou, Anna Gulmann, Anne Ventzel, Helle Mardahl, Camilla Stćrk, Baum und Pferdgarten, Daughters of Style and Bettina Bakdal.
Thirteen of Denmark's top fashion photographers have made their mark on the exhibition in the form of personal interpretations of the designers' new works. In addition, the photographers have selected their own favourite shots from their work over the years, thus creating an exhibition within the exhibition.
