Vyacheslav Zaitsev Retrospective Opens in MoscowAn exhibit featuring designs by well-known Russian fashion designer, Vyacheslav Zaitsev, opens on Tuesday at the Russian Exhibition Center's Culture Pavilion.
The exhibit will reflect the fashion designer's more than 40-year career, including his designs from the Slava Zaitsev Fashion House and collections that were shown with great success in Paris, New York, Moscow, Tokyo, Munich and other European and Asian cities.
Visitors will have a chance to see Mr. Zaitsev's sketches and paintings.
Mr. Zaitsev was the first Russian to show his collection during Haute Couture Week in Paris. He was awarded a medal and a certificate of an honorary citizen of Paris. In 1989, Mr. Zaitsev was recognized as one of the top five fashion designers at a Tokyo summit.
The Gold Taylor's Dummy, the Silver Spindle, the Gold Thread, the Ovation, the Gold Pushkin Medal are only some of the awards he has received in Russia.
Mr. Zaitsev is an Honored Art Worker of Russia, a winner of the State Prize and a member of the Russian Academy of Arts.
