 Fashion is more than frocks.
Fashion is the shape of your car, the texture of your carpet, the contrast of colors in your garden.
Fashion drives the visual world, and what comes down the runways inevitably influences even the most disposable of products -- paper.
Gift wrap and ribbon, the glamour pusses of the paper industry, are slaves to fashion.
This year the earthy color palette, fur trims, sensual fabrics and textural layers seen on clothing are also the prevalent trends in gift wrap.
"What you see on the runway is what you will see during the Christmas season," says Mona Williams, the Container Store's vice president of buying.
"Marabou, feathers, ribbons that have beading, the colors purple and orange, and metallic finishes are used for a presentation that is rich and beautiful."

Fashion enthusiasts have the rare chance to examine the legacy of some of the most recognized couturiers in the world, as a special retrospective on the history and significance of color and fashion is underway in Seoul.
"She's Like a Rainbow: Color and Fashion", which opened last week at Seoul's Rodin Gallery, displays 50 pieces from the houses of Chanel, Dior, Balenciaga, among others with 25 ensembles by five local designers.
The 50 garments on display from the most prestigious haute couture houses in the world on loan here from the permanent collection of the Museum at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, make this the first international scale fashion exhibition to be presented at a museum or art gallery in South Korea.
Designed to commemorate Samsung Art & Design Institute's 10th anniversary, this is also the first time pieces from the FIT museum will be shown in Asia.
Divided largely into two exhibits, room one offers a look into the works of internationally revered designers organized according to primary colors _ red, blue and yellow _ and secondary colors _ orange, green and purple.

Speedo has taken its Fastskin technology for swimwear and extended it to sledding sports with its unveiling of the Fastskin FSII Ice speed suit that will be worn by the U.S. sledding team at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy, Feb. 10-26.
It marks the first time athletes will compete in Speedo at a Winter Olympics.
Speedo said the Fastskin FSII Ice is specially designed to met the needs of athletes in skeleton, bobsled and luge events.
It brings together the aerodynamic features of the Fastskin FSII with the biomechanical engineering needed to provide the tight 'second skin' fit and freedom of motion required for these winter sports, Speedo said.
The Fastskin fabric, first created to reduce friction drag for swimmers and scientifically based on sharkskin, has been modified on the Fastskin FSII Ice so as to reduce drag based on the airflow direction unique to the three sledding sports.
The design also works to reduce energy dissipation, allowing the athlete's body to recover more quickly during competition and after.
A team of U.S. Olympic hopefuls led by Olympic Gold Medalist bobsledder Vonetta Flowers, world-ranked skeleton competitors Chris Soule and Noelle Pikus-Pace, and bobsledders Todd Hays and Jean Prahm assisted in the development and design of the suit.
