 With the objective of spreading and making even stronger Brazilians fashion, in the country and abroad, Fashion Rio - The Official Brazilian Fashion Event in Rio de Janeiro, gathered 35 brands this season.
Fahion Rio presented the spring/summer 2006 collections during 14-19 June 2005 at the Rio de Janeiro Modern Art Museum (MAM).
The event began on Tuesday and ended on Sunday, in the capital of the southeastern Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro.
Beside the parades, there was a jewellery exhibition, where jewels made by 26 designers were shown.
The six days of the parades of the Fashion Rio, at the Modern Art Museum (MAM), costed approximately US$ 2 million.
Brazilian brands like Walter Rodrigues, Lenny, Salinas and Lilica Ripilica who have already exhibited in various countries, were among the 35 brands that were participating in the event.
While models like Gisele Bündchen, Naomi Campbell and Isabeli Fontana were heating up the Fashion Rio runways, buyers from Europe, Latin America, Africa, Japan and the United States were visiting the Fashion Business, the business fair that brought up together almost 200 brands, in an area of 5,000 square metres.

 Originally from Pforzheim, the idea for the instruction as a men's tailor was settled very early in AL's (age-class 1969) mind.
As a teenager he already didn't like the material and cuts of the common clothes, so it was his grandma's turn to help him - she gave him the first entry to tailoring.
This first step was followed by an instruction as men's tailor at the Nuremberg Opera followed by the study of textile art at the Nuremberg Academy of Modern Arts and Fashiondesign in Hamburg.
After moving to Hamburg AL's marked interest in the emotional factor of special fabrics enflamed his love to Terry.
After several exercises and studies with the fluffy material in 2001 the first forms for pets and accessories appeared and are still part of his basic collection.
The funny uniques made of original material from the 50's, 60's and 70's quickly caused the interest of people with a sense for style and the particular.
Even the Lifestyle-Press was impressed and helped at last to bring AL's "Atelier für Frottier" into life.
Lovers about this towel fabric lived all over the world and booked AL's recycling Design. The "Atelier für Frottier" is today located in the most hip shopping mall in Hamburg's Karoviertel, the Marktstr 6. A new Trade Mark was born.

 The Global Garment competition, now at its fifth edition, takes form from the will to strengthen and reveal some of the characteristics that make Domus Academy one of the best known and most active post-graduate vocational centers worldwide.

 At the glamorous, new Wynn Hotel and Resort, Anthony Camargo and Nak Armstrong were honored by the National Jeweler and Couture International Jeweler publications with first place in the 2005 Couture International Jeweler Retail Design Award.
Eligible contestants included retailers, designers and architects who constructed or re-designed stores within the past two years.

 With its hoop handle and flower-strewn fabric, the handbag is cute and appealing.
And it is free - except for the Saturday mornings that the 14-year-old pre-college student spent creating it.
Although New York's Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) itself celebrates 60 this year, getting them young is the policy of the vast training school, founded in 1944 and part of the New York State university system since 1957.
The junior weekend sessions on the blocklong campus in newly fashionable Chelsea are just one facet of a school that has Calvin Klein as its most illustrious alumni and a mission to offer a broad swathe of design, industrial and technical fashion education.
And whereas so many fashion colleges are privately run, including Parson's School of Design here, FIT reaches out to students whose budget may not be as large as their ambitions.
Joyce Brown, the school's president for the past six years, is proud to be extending that reach still further, by purchasing a 15-story building as a new residence hall, which will open in 2006, doubling the number of the existing 1,250 live-in students.
"I have been heartened by all that has been accomplished: a strengthened full-time faculty, vibrant program growth, new campus buildings, new technology," Brown said to the alumni.
