The Midnight Twilight Collection by Young Lovers

The Midnight Twilight Collection by Young Lovers

Midnight Twilight is the new highly anticipated third collection from Sydney label "Young Lovers".

Created to oppose the movements of the un-radical majority, this collection of prints celebrates the madness of midnight love and all that surrounds it.

It is for the sleepless ones who dare to not follow. It is the Young Lovers who will take over the city by night.

Touted as one of the top new labels to watch in 2008, "Young Lovers" has become the name on the lips of the devotees, midnight marauders and heartbeat-of-the- pavement kids from Sydney to London, New York to Tokyo.

Colliding at the intersection of art and music, twilight and midnight, future and past, Young Lovers offers a refreshingly unique vision of modern street fashion.

Twenty-two year old Matthew is one of the youngest watch designers in the industry.

Matthew is set to launch his first line of watches with good friend and co-founder James Nelson early this winter season.

With such stylish creations as a dog tag watch, they are sure to make a prominent mark in the world of timepieces.

This stainless steel dog tag pendent displays a small watch and is offered in black plated metal and regular stainless steel.

This new accessory line is geared towards young adults that know what a huge impact the little things in life can create.

"We create based on a theory that people want to be able to express their individuality, we create for people to make a discernible statement of style." commented Matt.

As one of the most artistically saturated urban areas in the world, Brooklyn, New York serves as an endless supply of inspiration for design.

"Technological advances have made many young adults rely on cell phones and computers to tell time.

Its my goal to bring back the fashion appeal of watches with a new look".

Louis Vuitton Christmas Windows

Louis Vuitton Christmas Windows

Louis Vuitton has long been a brand associated with the art world thanks to frequent collaborations and exhibitions in its stores - and this year, ceo Yves Carcelle invited students to conjure up a vision for Vuitton's Christmas windows.

Winners Christopher Lawson and Marcos Villalba designed a 3-D wooden map, a construction about to feature in over 1000 stores worldwide.

"We thought it was good, for once, to give a chance to students - because we all need young talent," smiles Carcelle.

Manolo Blahnik Spring Summer 2008

Manolo Blahnik Spring / Summer 2008

Trust Manolo Blahnik to come up with influences as diverse as the architecture of Istanbul and Finnish Marimekko patterns and translate them into one of his favorite themes from his s/s 2008 collection.

"I had just come back from Turkey, where I was exposed to all this wonderful architecture," says Blahnik - who used the curves on windows of the Hagia Sophia as a starting point for the collection.

"Then, I was in Bath, and came across some really fantastic Marimekko prints in this little shop.

The two just happened to fall perfectly into place - bizarre as that combination may sound."

Blahnik has always had a fondness for picking up mundane objects and turning them into key elements of his designs.

This season, for example, a teaspoon became the basis of a new sole, a nail - one of many considered by the designer - was transformed into a heel of the most elegant proportions - finished off with a metal disc to make it that much more modern.
