Converse Captures Dwyane Wades Love of Basketball with New TV Spot

Converse Captures Dwyane Wade's Love of Basketball with New TV Spot

Miami HEAT guard Dwyane Wade's life is focused around his passion to play basketball and his love for the game.

For the start of the 2007-2008 NBA season, Converse announces a new integrated marketing campaign highlighting the basketball journey of a skinny kid from Robbins, Ill., to an NBA Champion, in a spot inspired by the written words of Wade himself.

"From Robbins, Illinois" will begin airing October 28, 2007 to coincide with the new WADE 3 signature basketball shoe.

Converse's national campaign is inspired by a letter written by Dwyane Wade to describe his relationship with basketball and how its challenges drive his desire to succeed.

Shot in American Airlines Arena and directed by award-winning director Samuel Bayer, the spot follows a solitary Dwyane Wade as he enters the empty arena and reflects both on his journey from small town Robbins, Illinois, but also on his imminent return to the big stage.

Roberto Cavalli at H&M: The Fashion Party Has Started

The unique "Roberto Cavalli at H&M" collection made by the Italian fashion legend in collaboration with H&M was presented to the international press at a gloriously glamorous gala event in Rome's Salone delle Fontane last night.

Cavalli made grande entrée on a red carpet catwalk with a trail of models wearing his luxurious party collection.

Stars from the music- and movie business, as well as fashionistas came to celebrate with the designer in Italian rock'n roll style.

"Roberto Cavalli is one of my personal favourites.

His clothes are sexy, and he is always on the edge and changes before other designers.

I think the collaboration with H&M is great because now all women can wear his designs", says Halle Berry.

The Roberto Cavalli party was staged like a gigantic VIP lounge where, among others, Sharon Stone and Halle Berry were spotted in the crowd.

Ethereal Elegance Fashion Art of Steven Stipelman

Ethereal Elegance: Fashion Art of Steven Stipelman

The 2007 Art and Design Faculty Exhibition The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) will showcase Ethereal Elegance: Fashion Art of Steven Stipelman in Gallery FIT from November 10 through December 15, 2007.

Approximately 60 images in acrylic, watercolor, and color pencil by Professor Stipelman of FIT's Fashion Design department will be on view.

This is the annual faculty show organized by a committee from FIT's School of Art and Design Exhibition Committee.

It is only the second time a solo artist has been chosen for the exhibition. Sculptor and FIT Professor of Fine Arts Robert Schechter received this honor in 2001.

A noted fashion illustrator, Mr. Stipelman has created innumerable sketches and renderings that have appeared in leading magazines and newspapers throughout the world.

The hallmark of his work is fantasy, with an ethereal, dream-like quality.

"It is my intention to create an expression that goes way beyond what fashion looks like-closer to what fashion feels like.

Within this realm, I am able to create an effect in a drawing that reality and photography cannot offer," he said.
