Liz Claiborne today announced that Deborah Lloyd will join Kate Spade as Co-President, Creative Director, effective November 1, 2007.
Ms. Lloyd, who was previously EVP, Design and Product Development at Banana Republic, will oversee all creative aspects of the Kate Spade and Jack Spade Brands, including, product design, merchandising, creative services and public relations.
Ms. Lloyd will report directly to William L. McComb, Chief Executive Officer of Liz Claiborne Inc.
Ms. Lloyd joins Kate Spade after a six year tenure at Banana Republic where she had responsibility for driving design for all products, for both the Women's and Men's businesses, including accessories and fragrance.
Prior to Banana Republic, she spent five years at Burberry, where she was instrumental in re-launching Burberry's Women's London Collection, while working closely with Rose Marie Bravo in reinvigorating that business.
Commenting on the announcement, Mr. McComb said: "Kate Spade is an important brand with considerable growth potential.
It is at a unique stage in its development and requires significant focus and supervision to take it to the next level.

This unique week of fashion shows and industry parties will offer the public an exclusive first look at the newest fashions presented by regional, national and international fashion designers in one of the largest wholesale and retail markets in the country.
Event dates are scheduled for October 20 - 26th as part of the Apparel and Accessories Market held at Dallas Market Center.
Plans are in place to hold Dallas International Fashion Week semi-annually with fashion shows and events each March and October tied to major Apparel Markets.
Over four days in October, designer fashion shows will showcase Spring / Summer 2008 collections in a curtained, enclosed 50,000 square foot fashion-theater located within The Grand Pavilion at the Trade Mart.
The space will feature a pre-show lounge complete with massive bar and dj booth, plasma monitors, interactive sponsor booths and special display areas.
Inside the fashion theater a dramatic 72 foot "T"-stage runway will be surrounded by reserved and VIP seating as well as reserved space for media.
Opening and closing events for Dallas International Fashion Week, along with daily celebritystudded after-parties and charity fundraiser trunk shows will be held at various partner retail locations throughout Dallas.

Kazuko Oshima, a noted jewelry designer whose work combined the delicacy of wire with the solidity of stone, died on Friday in Manhattan.
She was 65 and lived in Manhattan.
The cause was complications of esophageal cancer, said Andrea Robinson, a friend of many years.
Sold exclusively in the United States by Barney's, Ms. Oshima's jewelry was popular worldwide with well-heeled women and celebrities, among them Bianca Jagger.
In Ms. Oshima's most characteristic designs, crystals and semiprecious stones are wrapped in webs of gold wire and seem to float above the body as they encircle a wrist or neck.
Ms. Oshima believed passionately that the materials that she worked with possessed great healing powers, something she often discussed in interviews.

Singapore Fashion Week 2007 (SFW07) is slated for 12 - 21 October 2007.
This will be the 20th annual instalment, held this year to coincide with the 30th anniversary AFTEX (ASEAN Federation of Textile Industries) of which a council meeting is to be convened during SFW07.
Also, as a new member of Asia Fashion Federation (founded by China, Korea and Japan), Singapore will be hosting the annual AFF conference.
As always, SFW07 will showcase a series of comprehensive fashion-related trade shows featuring the latest designers' collections, brands/ labels from the region.
