 Triumph Inspiration Award 2009Underwear manufacturer Triumph is kicking off 2009 with the second launch of its global lingerie design competition for young fashion and design students.This year, young talents will not only be selected by the prestigious jury in Milan, they will also be chosen by visitors to the Triumph Inspiration Award website who will also be able vote on who should receive the award. Creative young talents from around the globe have been called upon to unleash their inspiration under the guidance of the design motto "Icons." The aim is to interpret an icon they have freely selected on their own and then create a one-of-a-kind design showpiece made up of one bra and one pair of briefs. The winner of the Triumph Inspiration Award will be announced in September 2009 at the International Finals during the Milan Fashion Week. "Dealing with trends from art, culture, fashion and lifestyle that we depict anew in every collection is part of our daily work.  Hussein ChalayanLeading the forefront of contemporary fashion design, the twice named "British Designer of the Year," Hussein Chalayan, is renowned for his innovative use of materials, meticulous pattern cutting and progressive attitudes to new technology.This exhibition will be the first comprehensive presentation of Hussein Chalayan's work in the UK. Spanning fifteen years of experimental projects, the exhibition explores Hussein Chalayan's creative approach, his inspirations and the many themes which influence his work such as cultural identity, displacement and migration.  Variety in Fashion at H&M This SeasonRomance continues to be on trend.The look is well-groomed, coordinated and playful with pretty watercolor shades and light neutrals.  SAIC Fashion Show 2009The School of the Art Institute of Chicago will celebrate the 75th anniversary of its annual Fashion Show on April 23 and 24 , in the School's recently opened and acclaimed Sullivan Galleries (entrance for these events at 36 S. Wabash Avenue).For the first time in its storied history, the Fashion Show will be presented within the installed space of SAIC's annual Graduate Exhibition, moving the "runway" away from the catwalk and into the Galleries' open spaces, and creating a vibrant relationship between the work of the School's graduating artists and designers and fashion students.
