With the spotlight on today's tennis champs, players' style is getting as much attention as their game play.
Wristbands and rhinestones are now among a slew of accessories that dictate fashion on and off the court.
"It's an on-court runway," said Dana Mason, a buyer for Mason's Tennis Mart, a Manhattan, N.Y., staple for tennis enthusiasts for 31 years.
Mason cites bright colors and accessories as biggies this year. "Every season, the collections are specific."
Basic tennis whites just don't cut it anymore, she said. "Tennis is really hot right now."
Third-seeded Maria Sharapova shows off a lavender tennis dress this year, refusing to alter her daytime wardrobe, according to Mason - because she's superstitious.
For night games, the 19-year-old Russian debuted a little black number adorned with tiny Swarovski crystals.
"The whole inspiration for the night dress was Audrey Hepburn," Sharapova told reporters at an afternoon news conference.

Fashion is like existentialism. It defines itself.
Over the years, fashion trends have come and gone.
But now, fashion has become a hodgepodge based on personal decisions.
Forty years ago, fashion was as important to some college students as it is today.
In 1967, the Exponent ran a fashion guide that highlighted top fashion that would be seen at that year's Rose Bowl between Purdue and The University of Southern California.
So once again, the Exponent decided to highlight fashion from the '60s, see what is coming back into style and find out where fashion is right now.
Jane Matranga, professor of apparel design, took the time to allow students in her CSR 328, "Fashion Illustration" class to answer a few questions on fashion.
Aja Aktay, a junior in the College of Consumer and Family Science, just so happens to be working on a '60s inspired sketch.
"Jumpers are huge right now," said Aktay.

Yasmin Velloza or Yana K don't exactly sound very Irish, and they are not.
But they and other more prosaic Gaelic names starred in this week's Dublin Fashion Week, the premiere style forum in Europe's most dynamic economy.
If anything sums up just how cosmopolitan Ireland has become, it's DFW, a three-day fashion salon staged in The Fitzwilliam, one of the better smartly appointed boutique hotels that have sprung up in booming central Dublin.
While a good deal of the offer featured fairly formulaic fashion for the newly rich Irish women, DFW did highlight some designers of distinctive and individual talent.
One name to watch is Eileen Shields, a shoe designer of genuinely originality.
A 33-year-old who attended FIT in New York and designed footwear for Donna Karan, Shields is a former nominee for the Best New Line in the VH1 Fashion Awards.
Now based in Ireland, Shields' eponymous line of fashion forward, though thoroughly wearable, shoes looks certain to guarantee a bright future.

Coming off last night's episode of Rockstar Supernova, Geoff Thomas Designs jewelry has officially been used on every member of the show's principal cast.
Brooke Burke hosted last night's show wearing the Egyptian King Necklace (that coincidentally Gilby Clark wore a few weeks back) and a skull denter ring.
On top of it, Dave Navarro was decked out in the rings of Geoff's he has worn every episode except one for the last three weeks (including a photo shoot cover of the Calendar section of the L.A. Times) and front runner Dilana was wearing two of Geoff's cuffs, including the spiked Claws Cuff.
Aerosmith's Steven Tyler wore several of his necklaces for a new Target TV commercial.
Supermodel Tracy Bingham, giving modern meaning to the word "breastplate," wore one of his ornate, hand-fabricated, sterling silver and gold metal bikini tops during a party at his showroom.
One thing's for sure: the eponymous founder of Geoff Thomas Designs is attracting both the attention of stars and fashionistas in the U.S. and Europe with his strikingly original jewelry, custom works that attest to Thomas' skills as an accomplished sculptor, painter and former tattoo artist in the Hawaiian Islands.

Fashion Focus Chicago 2006 is a citywide celebration of fashion in Chicago.
You will find fashion and shopping events in Millennium Park and our city's neighborhoods, as well as innovative events highlighting our local fashion design students' work." says Mayor Richard M. Daley.
The centerpiece of this celebration, four runway shows from September 25 to September 28, occurs at Millennium Park's Rooftop Terrace.
